About us

In light of Egypt’s vision

to develop technical education as the primary driver of economic and social development, ensuring a promising future for Egypt and its people, Abu Bakr Foundation for Applied Technology, Gas and Renewable Energy School was inaugurated in October Gardens, Giza in 2024.

Specializing in “Natural Gas Installation Technology in Industrial Applications”, “Solar Energy”, and “Converting Vehicles to Natural Gas”, the school offers a three-year program. This school meets the growing needs of the local, regional, and global labor market in the fields of natural gas and renewable energy.

This School is supervised by the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, in cooperation with the Federation of Egyptian Industries and the Abu Bakr Foundation for the Development of Technical Education and Applied Technology,

School Vision

Given Egypt’s pivotal role in the fields of natural gas and renewable energy, which are fundamental to economic and social growth, and in support of its efforts to enhance sustainable development at the local and regional levels, the Abu Bakr Foundation for Applied Technology, Gas and Renewable Energy School emerges as the first specialized technical school in these three fields in Egypt and the Middle East.

The school offers three main specializations in the field of natural gas and renewable energy, aiming to graduate qualified technical cadres to work in the fields of natural gas installation technology, converting vehicles to natural gas, and generating electricity from solar energy.

Academic aspects

Graduates of Abu Bakr School of Applied Technology, Gas, and Renewable Energy obtain a three-year Diploma in Applied Technology from the Ministry of Education, as well as a certificate from the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce. These students are qualified and trained in languages and computer skills to increase their opportunities in the global job market. Additionally, the graduates’ certificates are internationally recognized through the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce, maximizing their chances of employment in the local, regional, and international labor markets

School curricula are comprised of three fundamental axes, namely
  • Fundamental and cultural sciences as per the Ministry of Education
  • Technical subjects in specialization fields

And field training in training centers and operational sites of leading energy distribution companies in Egypt, the Arab world, and Africa, such as Arab Energy Company – for both natural gas and renewable energy – under the supervision of its experts and engineers. Students are granted certificates of experience upon completion of training periods in various specializations.

Abu Bakr Foundation for Development of Technical Education and Applied Technology

The Abu Bakr Foundation is the primary partner of the Abu Bakr School of Applied Technology, Gas, and Renewable Energy, providing comprehensive support to help the school achieve its objectives.

The foundation was established by the family of the late Engineer Abdel Hamid Abu Bakr, a key figure in the establishment of Egypt’s gas industry, recognized with the Order of the Republic twice for his contributions. His son, Engineer Khaled Abu Bakr, founded the foundation and is a notable figure in the energy sector across Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa. Khaled Abu Bakr has been instrumental in strengthening the roles of both the public and private sectors in gas, energy, and renewable energy in these regions.

Driven by the belief in the importance of technical education as a fundamental force for comprehensive and sustainable development, the foundation aims to help build a brighter future for Egypt and its people. This aligns with the Egyptian government’s economic and social development plans, reflecting the foundation’s commitment to supporting national and global development goals.
